Meet Dr. Friedman
Michael C. Friedman, DDS, believes in providing his patients with the best comprehensive dental care possible. His mission is to help patients achieve the highest level of care they desire in a comfortable, modern environment at Sharon Springs Dental in Cumming, Georgia. He uses the latest technology and techniques and continuously pursues ongoing education in his field.
Dr. Friedman was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He earned his dental degree from New York University after receiving his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the State University of New York at Albany.
Before joining the team at Sharon Springs Dental, Dr. Friedman worked in Atlanta for many years. He is a member of the Advanced Dental Implant Studies Group, Spear Study Club, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Friedman also served as a board member for the Alpha Omega Dental Society, where he volunteers his services to provide free dental care to those in need through the Henry Schein Holocaust Survivor Oral Health Program.
Dr. Friedman lives in Marietta, Georgia, with his wife, two sons, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He loves to spend time sailing on Lake Allatoona, as well as playing tennis and golf. He enjoys good food and loves cooking for friends and family.
Meet the Team
Athena Donkar, Dental Hygienist
Athena was born and raised in Georgia and graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2007 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She lives here in Cumming with her husband John, and two boys, George and Sam.
You will find that she is compassionate, able to put her patients at ease, and ensures a positive dental experience. She loves getting to know her patients and building relationships with them. She considers and treats all of her patients like family. In her spare time she enjoys olympic weight lifting, CrossFit, and a good reality show. She also loves spending quality time with her children and family, and loving on her dog Stella.
Stacy Gagne, Dental Hygienist
After working ten years for PepsiCo, I decided to attend hygiene school to fulfill my longtime dream of
being a dental hygienist. I graduated from Georgia State in 2006 and have worked at just three practices
before joining Sharon Springs Dental.
I believe in providing top-notch patient care in a comfortable environment. The dental field is amazing
because we have the ability to change someone’s life. I want to be part of those moments!
Outside of work, you will find me traveling, working out, or hanging out with friends and family. I live in
Alpharetta with my husband of 27 years. We have two grown children and are enjoying being “empty-
Crisly, Lead Dental Assistant
Crisly has been an expanded functions dental assistant for over 18 years. It has always been a priority to assure patients they are comfortable during their visits and provide them the utmost standard of care. Her skills and compassion in providing excellent care in both English and Spanish allow for the ultimate patient experience.
Crisly moved to Georgia from Florida to be able to enjoy spending time with her family alongside with her husband Yoel and son Remy.
Daily she enjoys a good workout/run. She loves exploring great restaurants all over Atlanta with friends and family. Also ,she enjoys a great target run with her son.
Jennifer, Dental Assistant
Born and raised in Ga. I started my dental career in 2017 after being a full time mom and wanting to have a career after my children were all in school. I love being in the dental industry, a smile is so important to people and being able to help create that is rewarding beyond measure. I love to engage with my patients and treat them as if they were my own family, helping to create a comfortable and pleasant dental experience. I have three children 22, 17, and 13 Caleb Emily and Cooper they are my world. I enjoy spending time with my children family and friends, spending time outdoors exploring, gardening and giving all the glory to God for all my blessings. I can't wait to help you smile.
Sam, COO of Southern Smiles Group
Samuel Richter is a Registered Dental Hygienist who now works diligently as our Chief of Operations to ensure our patients receive outstanding care. Sam believes that preventative dental care and a healthy mouth are of utmost importance to overall health. Sam has worked in dentistry for 20 years and has experience as a receptionist, assistant, insurance coordinator, office manager and Dental Hygienist. He is currently also an instructor for Georgia School of Dental Assisting. Sam is a CPR instructor and won the Golden Scaler award for clinical excellence while attending Dental Hygiene school. Sam is married with a son, daughter and a dog. Sam lives in Flowery Branch. His hobbies include boating, watersports, riding ATV’s, snow skiing, and RC cars.
Kristie, Office Manager
Kristie is a Georgia native. Her life’s passion has been to help people thrive, whether that be through achieving optimal dental health, or optimal physical health through martial arts and personal training.
Kristie has several years of clinical experience as a dental assistant, and now manages the office for us. She is great at working with insurance companies to make sure you are getting the most out of your benefits. She currently resides in Gainesville, Ga. With her Husband, 3 kids and 2 dogs. Her hobbies include riding her Harley, watersports, training at the gym and enjoying nature.
Iecha, Patient Coordinator
Iecha graduated from Dental Assisting school at the age of 24 and has been loving every bit of it. From listening to patients to ensure their needs are being addressed to verifying insurance and helping them figure out financial arrangements.
Iecha moved from Ohio to Georgia with her fiance Rai and her son Jeremiah. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, shopping, and writing poetry.
